This module introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices of financial accounting, including recording transactions, double-entry bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, and understanding key accounting concepts and standards.
This module develops understanding of cost accounting and its application in business decision-making. It introduces cost behaviour, budgeting, forecasting, cost-volume-profit analysis, variance analysis, and decision-making tools used by managers.
This module provides foundational knowledge of finance and economics within a business context, including sources of finance, time value of money, microeconomics, macroeconomics, market dynamics, and business environment analysis.
This module develops quantitative, digital, and academic communication skills for business applications. It covers descriptive statistics, probability, spreadsheet skills, data visualization, academic writing, referencing, and report writing.
Completion of Year 2 makes students eligible for the NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Accounting & Finance.
This module develops the ability to prepare and interpret financial statements in accordance with IFRS. It covers the IFRS framework, financial statement preparation, accounting for assets and liabilities, introductory group accounts, ratio analysis, and performance evaluation.
This module develops financial decision-making skills in corporate environments. It explores investment appraisal, cost of capital, capital structure, working capital management, risk and return, and financial planning and control.
This module provides knowledge of taxation principles and their application in business and personal contexts. It covers personal taxation, corporate taxation, indirect taxes, compliance requirements, tax planning, and international taxation principles.
This module develops understanding of auditing processes, governance frameworks, and legal principles. It covers audit processes, audit evidence, internal controls, risk assessment, corporate governance, business law, contracts, and professional ethics.
Completion of Year 3 makes students eligible for the NCC Education Level 6 Diploma in Accounting & Finance.
This module develops advanced financial reporting skills and analytical capabilities. It covers advanced IFRS, complex reporting standards, group accounts, consolidation, business combinations, financial instruments, sustainability reporting, integrated reporting, and strategic financial analysis.
This module develops strategic cost management and performance evaluation skills. It covers advanced costing techniques, activity-based costing, strategic costing, performance measurement, balanced scorecard, strategic decision-making, cost management, sustainability, and lean accounting.
This module develops strategic financial management and risk analysis capabilities. It explores corporate finance strategies, capital structure, dividend policy, investment decisions, valuation techniques, market risk, credit risk, derivatives, hedging strategies, and portfolio management.
This module enables students to conduct independent research in accounting or finance. Students design and complete an applied research project, using appropriate research methodologies, data collection, data analysis, academic report writing, and professional presentation of findings.
Applicants should possess CSEC / CAPE / High School Diploma or equivalent qualification, or a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline.
Applicants may be admitted directly to Year 2 if they possess a Level 4 qualification such as HNC, CertHE, Level 4 Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Applicants may be admitted directly to Year 3 if they possess a Level 5 qualification such as HND, DipHE, Foundation Degree, or equivalent qualification. Partial completion of professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA may also be considered.
Applicants without formal academic qualifications may be considered based on relevant work experience in accounting, finance, auditing, banking, insurance, or related areas. Applicants may be required to attend an interview, submit a professional portfolio, or complete an assessment.
